Coming Events

Lots of things happening in the next few months as the league season reaches its climax and we plan our club competitions.

I just wanted to highlight 3 events taking place over the next couple of months.

Firstly, we are having a visit from top player and coach Craig Bryant,  who will be running a coaching session at Teign School on Saturday 30th March 9:00-12:00.  This will be suitable for all standards, and is open for any club member to attend, however there will be a charge of £7:50 for adults and £5 for juniors. To be part of this exciting session you MUST book your place with me.  I am expecting this to be very popular and with 130 members on our register and just 30 places available, spaces will be allocated on a first come first served basis.

Secondly, I run the League’s Annual Closed Tournament which takes place at the Torbay Leisure Centre, Clennon Valley, Goodrington, Paignton on Saturday 27th April, 9:00-17:00, there are up to 16 different competitions, Divisional, Juniors, Veterans, Men’s, Ladies, Doubles, etcIt would be really good to have a strong contingent of Newton Abbot players taking part, so please do get involved, as it is an excellent day of Table Tennis with plenty of games for all. Entry Forms from me or on the League’s website.

Thirdly, and following on from the tournament above, this season, we are trialling having a Finals Night, which, for many years, has been very popular in the Exeter League.  So, several of the finals together with the presentation of all the seasons awards will take place at Newton Abbot Racecourse on Tuesday 30th April 19:00-22:00.  This will be a great opportunity for anyone to come along and see our top players in action in an excellent setting.  Please bring along your family and friends to support this not to be missed showpiece event.

Saturday 18th May - Don Blatchford Junior Challenge

Friday 24th May and every other Friday for 6 weeks - Albany Florists Cup (Div 4/5 & non-league players only, format as last year)

More details on all the above will be in the April newsletter released towards the end of this month.
