It is with particular sadness that I have to report that Peter Spillett passed away last week at the age of 72.

Pete was a colleague at Thames Water and my team-mate in Thames Conservancy teams for many years from 1977 until the mid 1990’s playing in various divisions 6, 5 and 4. 

I remember him as being always competitive, with a dry sense of humour and a wide smile. He was great to have as a team-mate, but I never enjoyed playing against him, probably because he would normally beat me.

Our condolences go to his wife and three children.
