LOWER DIVISIONS Knockout Cup

2023/24 LDKO Competition

The Lower Divisions Knockout Cup is open to all teams registered in Divisions 3 and 4.

This season the tournament will remain as a DOUBLES event.  Each team can field up to 6 players and each player can play in a maximum of two pairings.  Each set will be best of three games up to eleven.

With only 16 teams entering, this seasons Competition Format will once again be a straight Knockout 

Match Format will again have all 9 sets in each match being doubles sets but with the option of featuring from three to six players on each side, with any individual player restricted to a maximum of two pairings. Please note that each set will be best of 3 [not 5] games, with games being up to 11 points as in league matches.

The Trophy has gone to Reading FC 'A' following a excitingly close 5 - 4 victory over Springfield 'B'. With Springfield winning the opening set and sets then shared between the sides, the match finally decided with a Reading 11-8, 7-11, 11-8 win in set nine

The Semi-Final matches have now been completed, following Reading FC 'A's victory over OLOP 'D'. Reading will now meet Springfield 'B' in the final who themselves saw off Kingfisher 'G'.

This seasons final is to be played at the Our Lady of Peace club on Tuesday 2nd April

Our Lady of Peace 'D' have won the Trophy following a 6 - 3 victory over Curzon 'C'. At three sets each the match was finely balanced before OLOP stepped up a gear to capture the final three sets. More match details hopefully to be posted on this weeks Press Release on the website.

The Semi-Final matches have now been completed, highlights of which can be viewed on the Website under News > Press Reports > 18th February Report. OLOP 'D', having disposed of last seasons finalists Reading FC 'A, will meet Curzon 'C' in the final. Curzon triumphing over Springfield 'D'. 

This seasons final is to be played at the Our Lady of Peace club on Tuesday 3rd April

All Quarter-Final matches are now complete. Holders Tidmarsh 'D' were finally beaten by Curzon 'C'. Springfield 'D' are the only representatives left from division five and are joined by OLOP 'D' and Reading FC 'A', who are still on course to recapture the trophy they held two seasons ago.

The nine winning teams will then be joined in round two by the seven teams having the best losing result. This will be determined by sets difference, game difference and finally points count back.
