Tribute to Roger Woolven-Allen

Roger Woolven-Allen, where to start,

My first real contact with Roger was when I joined the Kingfisher Table Tennis club some 23 years ago, he was one of the most welcoming members.

I played against and with Roger in league and practice over much of that time and it took some time before I found the beating of him, he had his own style which I found difficult to handle, but eventually found the answer, with Roger It did not matter whether you lost to him or beat him at the table, you would always go back to your seat and have a good chat.

Roger was for a long time the editor of the Kingfisher newsletter, who cannot remember Rogers ramblings, his stories snippets of info, anecdotes were always worth waiting for and you dare not say anything or do anything in any way comical or untoward else you would end up in the ramblings, I believe I ended up in despatches on one occasion.

A lovely man , a great friend, he will be sadly missed.

My thoughts and I hope many other players thoughts are with Rogers family at this sad time.
