Kennon Trophy 2023-24 Format and Rules of Competition

Individual Handicaps

One game of singles to 31 no deuce

Each game starts at handicap difference e.g. +6 player vs +12 player starts at 0-6

Players can only represent one club and one team

Handicaps may be revised each round or for the final

Players to comply with Cup Reg 13 

In addition for season 23/24 it has been determined that a minimum of 13 points to be played so as an example a 24 handicapper would play off 18 (18+13=31) and whoever the opponent, they would be reduced by 6 also.

In the event of a players handicap going –ve.  Scoring can either be –ve to 31 or start at 0 and play to whatever the score would be to allow the 13 point minimum to be played.

An example is: Player 1 on (+2) vs Player 2 on (+24). Could be scored either as Player 1 on (-4) against Player 2 on (+18) to (31) or be scored as Player 1 on (0) and Player 2 on (22) but the game would be scored to (35)

Match ends to be swapped at 50% of each player’s points to be played – usually at 15 for convenience. At end swap a 2 minute interval or timeout is permitted.
