This is to remind you of our Annual Tournament, see copy of original email below. If you would like to enter, please submit your entries asap and at the latest by next Wednesday, 26 Feb 2025.
To all Members, Friends and Juniors of KDTTL,
Annual Tournament, Kirkby Stephen Grammar School Sports Hall
Sunday 9 March 2025, 09.00 to 17.30.
You are invited to take part in the above Annual Tournament and the Entry Form is attached.
On the tournament day most events will be played through to the final and then finals and presentations will take place on Finals Night the following Tuesday evening (11 March) at Natland Village Hall (with refreshments provided). The exceptions may be the Junior Events, which will hopefully be completed on the tournament day.
- As previous years, all members of Kendal and District Table Tennis League are eligible to play.
- Players who are members of clubs affiliated to KDTTL but who do not play in the League are welcome to play.
- Any juniors (including those who play in the first and second divisions) are very welcome to enter the U16, U13, U11 or U10 events.
There is no limit to the number of events you can enter, which gives you the opportunity to play a lot of competitive table tennis. Please do not think that you should not enter unless you are one of the League’s top players. Most of the singles events will be played on a group basis and there is also a handicap singles event, so you will get plenty of opportunity to play table tennis regardless of your standard. There is no charge for participating in this tournament.
This year, we are pleased to be holding the Tournament at Kirkby Stephen Grammar School. Kirkby Stephen Table Tennis Club have kindly offered to host the event, and are very keen to help the League in this way. Although we recognise that for many, it will be further to travel, the facilities at KS are excellent, both for competitors and spectators, and there will be refreshments available throughout the day. Also, Kirkby Stephen TTC have been able to negotiate a very favourable rate for the hire of the hall. Thankyou Kirkby Stephen.
How to enter and the closing date for entries are stated on the entry form. I hope you will take this opportunity to enter and gain the benefit of some competitive table tennis. As you all know already, there is nothing like playing players of a similar or higher standard to improve your game.
Best wishes, Mick Taylor
