Junior League South - Winter 2022: Winners Slyne Smashers

There was an exciting and closely contested finish to the revived Junior League South. Congratulations to our winners Slyne Smashers (Max Newton & Isaac Hewitt) who beat 2nd placed The Mishits (Matthew Batstone & Brodie Revill) in the final match to win the league by 4 points. Ahluwalia (Lakshya & Tansi Ahluwalia + sub Jack Ingleby) and Thing 1 & 2  (Elliott Riley & Sam Williamson) were joint 3rd just 6 points behind the winners and 2 points from 2nd place. Nine teams of two players each from Burton, Dallam, Natland and St Luke's Slyne with Hest, competed. This was the first time many of the juniors had played competitively and in a group of mixed ages and playing abilities. A spring league is now being planned and if sufficient teams enter this will be organised in two Divisions.
