Natland A win top of the table clash

Natland A came out on top when the top two teams in Division 1 of the Kendal & District Table Tennis League clashed last week. Roger Pimblett produced a man of the match performance, defeating both Baxendale brothers to lead Natland to a 21-16 victory over Burton A. The effect was to cut Burton’s lead at the top to 2 points. At the bottom end of the table, Natland B eased their relegation worries with a comfortable 25-13 win against a mid-table Dallam team. Mark Ashburn, seemingly regaining some of his old form, was the star for Natland, winning all 3 singles rubbers including a nail biting 11-13, 11-9, 11-2, 10-12, 13-11 defeat of Dallam’s no.1, James Neal.

In Division 2, Natland D returned to the top following a crushing 30 points to 4 demolition of Grayrigg A but both Crook B and Natland C have 2 matches in hand and are within striking distance of Natland D.
