New Season

New Kendal Table Tennis Season Kicks Off

The new season in the Kendal & District Table Tennis League kicks off on October 3rd. The League consists of 9 clubs, and ranges geographically from Dalton in the north to Kirkby Stephen and Dent in the east. Clubs local to the Kendal area include Natland, Burton-in-Kendal, IBIS, Grayrigg, Dallam and Crook. The League consists of 24 teams playing in 3 divisions plus 2 junior divisions, playing once a month at Kirkby Stephen. As soon as juniors are good enough, they can move up to the main divisions. Teams consist of 3 players in the main divisions and 2 in the juniors. The League runs annual tournaments for both juniors and seniors and has representative teams in the National Junior League (18 & under), National Cadet League (15 & under) and the veterans (40 & over) section of the Lancashire and Cheshire League. Junior coaching is available at a number of our clubs and the League also provides subsidised coaching for juniors, 4 times a season, with a high level coach from the Garstang Table Tennis Centre.

The League is always looking for new clubs and new players. Table tennis is great fun and is not weather dependent. Most of our clubs have weekly ‘club nights’, which anyone can attend, not just team players. Anyone interested in playing or perhaps resuming after a mid-life break, can find details of clubs, contacts etc. on the Kendal & District Table Tennis Website  https://www.tabletennis365.com/kendal or email the General Secretary, Mick Taylor (micktaylor1502@yahoo.co.uk). Looking forward to a great season.

Tony March, Chairman.
