ALL cup competitions held their the semi-finals last week.

In the Warburton Cup for all divisions, Heaton B, with 37.5 points advantage, beat Meadow Ben A 379.5-323 and will now play either Bolton TTC or Farnworth SC D in the final.

In the Brian Gittins Cup for the Premier and Division One, Wharton overcame Burning Desire, who had 65.5 start, to win 373-332.5.

Radcliffe CC, with 51.5 start, were beaten by Ramsbottom A 387-324.5 who now play Wharton in the final.

In the George Yates Trophy for Divisions Two and Three, Bolton TTC did not need their 65.5 start to win against Farnworth SC B 409.5-306. They will now play either Hilton F or St Paul’s Peel A in the final.

In the Ron Hindle Trophy for Division Four, Ladybridge C could not raise a team and gave Hilton I a walkover into the final against Harper Brass E who beat Meadow Hill C.

Next week sees the penultimate week of league matches. Barring a collapse, Flixton A look set to win the Premier Division with Ramsbottom A safely in second place.

In Division One, Heaton CC A seem safely ahead of the pack with Coburg A, Nomads B and Hilton B vying for second place.

In Division Two, Meadow Ben A – having requested to be moved down a division – look set to win it. However, they do have two difficult matches coming up against their closest rivals, Ramsbottom D and Heaton CC C, with Heaton CC B also in contention.

In Division Three, Boyzone appear certain winners. They play bottom of the table Meadow Hill A next week. Second-placed Heaton CC D will have a tussle against fourth-placed Farnworth SC C which leaves second place up for grabs.

In Division Four, only five points separate the top three teams with a big game coming up between second-placed Farnworth SC D and leaders Hilton H the week after next.
