Match Report

Mini Match Report - Crosby B 8 Princes St A 2

Rumours had been circulating throughout the week that all was not well in the Princes St camp.

Had the team lost faith in Darren "Jose" Taylor's captaincy?

Was Matty Wilson suffering from flatulence after eating 15 portions of fruit and veg per day?

Could Michael Stewart concentrate on the match or was he more concerned about Everton's injury crises?

And finally had Dave Noden managed to get to B&Q to buy the 2 cans of WD40 needed to get rid of his rust due to inactivity?

It was hoped that all these questions would be answered when the lads played their first game of the season away at Crosby B.

Opposing them were the regular 4 of Rhys and Mark Davies , Francois Rafferty and the double agent Pete Ashley who not only looks after the hall where Princes St play but also came to watch them play this week! His fiendish attempt at spying was thwarted when Pete mistakenly turned up for a Princes St 2nd division game on Wednesday . You play in the FIRST division Peter!

Straight from the off it was clear which team had been practicing assiduously this summer and which team ........er hadn't.

Matt enjoyed a comprehensive win against Mark before the England no.4 Cadet Rhys Davies cleaned him up in 4 games.

Darren beat Kim Philby in 3 straight.

Sadly that was as good as it got for the not so fab four.

Somewhat predictably Rhys commenced his POM collection for the season and the Princes made their way home.

The only good news was that with just 2 matches going to 5 the boys got back to the Zetland in plenty of time for last orders.
