It is with a heavy heart that I have been asked to pass on the sad news that Ray Farmer passed away yesterday morning in Southend Hospital after a bout of pneumonia.
Rays funeral will be held at Southend Crematorium on Tuesday 24 October at 11:40.

Stanford-le-Hope beat Hadleigh Forum B 5-4 this week in what will probably be an important game in the battle for survival in the Premier division. Rahul Sharma continued his excellent start to the season with a triple for Stanford.
Dave has recently had to pack up playing TT for Wakering due to a neck injury (he is 81 years old).
Past players he played with were Mick Rowe, Neville Franklyn, David Barnes and Dick Mann, plus the Wakering players.

A Chudi Ukpaka maximum inspired Basildon Hospital to a 6 – 3 home win against Wakering. Dean Baker pitched in with two wins and Albert Harrison added another. For the visitors, Nigel Cook won two and Stewart Mills one.
