Can everyone please take more care when completing and submitting scorecards to the League.
Errors have to be identified and corrected by those who have volunteered to get the results on to the website, and also by our Press Officer, before he can complete his weekly report. This is very frustrating and time-consuming and would not be necessary if the scorecards with completed correctly in the first place.
Amongst the most common problems are :-
- Detailed set scores not being consistent with home/away win column (eg. an 11-9, 11-9, 11-9 result being recorded as an away win)
- Wins not being recorded against players at the top of the scorecard or being incorrectly recorded
- Full names of players not being recorded - often only the Christian Names are written down
- Names either spelt incorrectly or illegible
- Full names of teams not being recorded
- Division the match is being played in not being recorded
If the standard of the scorecards being submitted does not improve, then where errors / omissions are found these will be referred back to the person sending in the scorecard for correctlon. This will delay the score going on the website and the League tables being updated. This would be a great shame given that, thanks to the volunteers who put the results on the website they are updated very quickly at the moment. The Press Officer would also be very grateful for accurate scorecards so that errors do not filter into his weekly reports and he can prepare these more efficiently.
