The British Premier League’s table-topping sides are set to lock horns in a match that will almost certainly decide the outcome of this year’s competition.
Urban and Ormesby will go into battle knowing that victory would have a monumental say in the thrilling title race.
Just one point separates the two teams heading into the match, with Urban currently topping the table. But victory for Ormesby would see them leapfrog this weekend’s hosts with just two games remaining.
Urban are unbeaten so far this season and got their incredible campaign off to a flying start when they defeated Ormesby 5-3 on the opening day of the season.
They could line up with the same side that won on that day back in October, which would mean Satoshi Aida, Szilard Gyorgy, Daniel Schaffer and Alim Hirji would go out in search of a result that could secure them the title, although Daniel Kosiba, the Hungarian world ranked 264, will also be in Urban’s thinking for the match.
Ormesby, meanwhile, are expected to go all out in their attempts to secure the title, and are likely to be unchanged from the side that beat defending champions Drumchapel Glasgow last month.
It means Tianming Zhao, world ranked 327, will spearhead the attack alongside number 239 Viktor Brodd. They’ll be ably supported by former England internationals Darius Knight and Danny Reed.
A healthy crowd is expected for the contest, with tickets selling fast for the 4pm KO. Admission is £5 on entrance, however, tickets can be purchased today by clicking here. All proceeds will go towards the club’s junior coaching programme.
Elsewhere, Drumchapel will look to keep their faint hopes of retaining the title alive when they play Ormeau in what is the only other match in Premier ‘A’, after the two leagues split following the last round of action.
In Premier ‘B’, North Ayrshire will be hoping to benefit from complacency as they take on a BATTS side already safe from relegation after picking up two straight wins.
North Ayrshire are one of three teams locked on two points going into the final three games, with an almighty fight for survival set to take place.
The two other teams, Cardiff and Fusion, will battle it out in Wales in a match that will have a huge say in who ultimately gets relegated.
