ADTTA are delighted to announce the formal opening of the Balgownie Pavilion for all our members on Tuesday 13th May. We have listened to the feedback received from members and have accordingly made a few changes to the arrangements previously proposed. Opening and closing procedures have now been finalised and for those not familiar with the location of the premises, the postcode is AB22 8LX and directions can be found in this link Balgownie Playing Fields - Bing Maps
5 tables will be set up permanently and the premises will now be open on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday evenings from 6pm to 10pm.
Players will pay a monthly fee to use the facility as often as they wish during the available sessions – £20 for a working adult, £15 for a retired person and £10 for those in full-time education, all per month – paid by standing order to the Association. For players who do not wish to pay the monthly subscription, they may attend individual sessions at a cost of £5 per session for adults and £2 for Juniors. All players will be required to sign in for each session and those not paying by monthly standing order will be billed for their use at the end of each month.
To allow members to “try before they buy”, we will not be charging for any sessions attended during May. For those keen to commit to pay by standing order, we would ask standing orders to be set up with a first payment date of Tuesday 3rd June – ADTTA bank details will be supplied. For those paying for individual sessions, the first monthly bill will be due following the final June session on Thursday 26th.
Please note that the facility will not be open for practice on Thursday 29th May when we will be holding the ADTTA AGM.
We really hope ADTTA members support this initiative. The ongoing table availability and cost issues in the city are well documented, and we are sure this will help significantly address the situation.
If you have any questions on any of the above, please contact Donald Pirie or Brian Robertson – their e mail details are noted below.
