2024 Finals Night Report

Spectators were treated to a great evening of table tennis at Elton Vale Sports Club, as the combined Oldham and Bury Leagues individual events reached their conclusion.

First up was the Veterans Final, where Graham Jeffries (Little Lever Hilton) beat Miles Benjamin (Birley Moss). Roman Rubanets (Werneth CC) then impressed in overcoming Matty Evans (Hollinwood) in the Div 1 Handicap final.

Next came the Open Singles semi-finals. Graham Jeffries repeated his victory over Miles Benjamin, and the all-round attacking game of Matty Evans proved too strong for the defence of Pete Morris (Grotton).

The Doubles Final saw the Birley Moss pairing of Naz Ahmed and Miles Benjamin beat Chris Whitehead and Matty Evans from Hollinwood in five sets.

The Open Singles final proved to be the best match of the night. Matty Evans played some brilliant table tennis to overcome the experienced and multi-winner of this event, favourite Graham Jeffries, by 4 sets to 2. Congratulations to Matty on a great performance!
