The County Veteran’s Team was in action this weekend in the first round of fixtures held at Ormesby TTC. The team was captained by Anthony Ainley, with Iain Wood, Paul Baines and Christine Burke completing the squad. The results were truly a result of a great team effort and camaraderie, securing draws against Cleveland 2 (Ainley 1,Baines 1, Burke 1, Wood 1 and Ainley/Burke combining to win a mixed doubles),  Durham (Ainley 2, Baines 1, Burke 1, Baines/Ainley winning a men’s doubles, with a 10-0 loss to an extremely strong Cleveland 1 side. Well done to everyone involved.

The second round of matches is due to be played in April.
