League Update 12th March
The Northumbria Premier division leaders, Cramlington Casuals were held to  5 - 5 draw in their derby match with the Tigers despite  Andrew Wilkinson winning all of his sets and Barry Richardson getting the other two. Geoff Salter picked up a couple for the Tigers with John Williamson and Robert Reed getting one each and Williamson and Salter taking the doubles. Cramlington Reivers side of Dale Aitkenhead, Gary Sangster and Ellis Cooper came away from YMCA North Tyneside with a 9 - 1 win under their belts to move into second spot in the table.
The top of the table clash in the first division between Byker A and Old England Jacks saw Byker take a 4 - 1 lead only to be pegged back with the match ending up all square. Tony Gelder won all three for the Jacks with Phil Prady and Keith Patterson getting two each for Byker as well as winning the doubles. At the same time Tyne Dock had Micky Grimes and Ian Stewart in form to win 7 - 3 away at North Fire B.
Old England  Crocks dented the hopes of promotion for YMCA North Tyneside B when they had Colin Robson in fine form, winning three and combining with Brian Bateman to win the doubles. With Bateman also getting two singles the Crocks ran out 6 - 4 winners. Jim Robertson did best with two victories for the losing side. At the other end of the table Saints took a big step in trying to avoid relegation with a 7 - 3 victory over Cramlington Corinthians, Tony Martin and Vince Killen both unbeaten.
Old England FATTS are now virtually assured of winning the third division after coming away from second placed Cramlington Swifts with an 8 - 2 success, Barry Matthews and Ben D'Arcy both being on form to win all of their sets.
The young Cramlington Lions side of Blair Carmichael, Alex Creighton and Jamie Hall had a good win in the fourth division, beating Ouston D 6 - 4 with Carmichael winning all of his sets.
