Dave Lomax, new ADTTA Development Officer for South Aberdeenshire
Aberdeen & District TT Association is delighted that Dave Lomax of Stonehaven TTC has been appointed to this part-time post to take over from Catherine Inverarity. The post is funded for the next 2 years jointly by Sport Scotland under their Direct Club Investment scheme and by the local recruitment firm Strategic Resources.
The aim is to develop table tennis in community groups, clubs and schools and to help to set up TT sessions for all ages from juniors through league players to pensioners. Age is no barrier! Pathways are available for talented youngsters but we also recognise the importance of TT as a pastime giving healthy exercise and social opportunities to many.
Dave will cover the area from Ellon in the North to Laurencekirk in the south and along Deeside to the west. He will also continue with our initiative funded by Active Aberdeen Partnership to introduce TT to residents of sheltered housing and care homes in Aberdeen City.
Rob Barsby will carry on in the same role in the North Aberdeenshire area and together we are sure that table tennis will make further progress in the Northeast of Scotland!
