Chinley C proved they will be a pushover for nobody in Div 2 by pushing the miserable old veterans of Hyde YMCA all the way, before succumbing 7-3. All the Chinley players, Debbie, James and Richard, contributed one victory each, whilst Adrian Burrell starred for YMCA, winning all his three games, a little more comfortably than Harry Garside did. Pete Green didn't record a win but was happy to be competing after recovering from his health problems the previous week. Martyn Capper joined Pete to a win in the doubles.
