Minehead A’s Don Davis became the first player this season to take a set from Wiveliscombe’s John Edbrooke, Davis eventually went down 3-1 but followed up with a 3 sets to 1 victory over Dennis Buckingham. Toby Kerslake contributed 5 singles points to Minehead’s tally forcing Dave Woodland to 5 sets and defeating Buckingham 3-2.
Harry Harrison made a welcome return for Roys Boys and took 7 of their 12 points from his singles. This included a 3-1 win over David Bryant and narrow five set defeats to Mervyn Hillier and Martyn Summerell.
A great team performance saw Swallows defeat Mad Batters by 35 points to 8. Benjamin Forster and Joe Camp recorded maximums for Swallows. Jasper Pye was denied his maximum by a 13-11 fifth set defeat to Mathew Short.
Steve Palmer and Graham Lamacraft took maximums for Barn Boys as they defeated bottom of the table Hobby Horse 35-10. Mike Lawrie scored Hobby Horse’s only singles success with a straight sets win over Andy Fay.
Leaders White Horse won 27-17 at Tony’s Troopers to maintain their title challenge. Colin White and Ian Rew notched maximums for White Horse. Sifa Vea top scored for Tony’s Troopers taking 6 points from his singles including a straight sets success over Jamie Robertson.
