Match Report
The evening produced some usual hard fought sets between the two teams with 4 being decided in the final game but all of them won by Falcons and only 2 sets won in three.
Mike had a few "wobbles" but playing his first match of the season soon got into his idiosyncratic style of play and won a deserved maximum. Better still was Ed who despite once again raising the noise levels at the Village Hall, was impressive with his forehand attack. A liitle less intensity would be good but you cannot deny that Ed "wears his heart on his sleeve" and gets results!
Louis played well and beat myself and Colin over 5 tight games to secure his third 2 set win of the season. Fortunately Martin beat Louis to gain a point for Taverners and combining with Colin in the doubles came back from 2 games down only to lose narrowly in the fifth.
Taverners will look forward to the "rematch" in January 2020!
