NA Buzzards are the early leaders of the First Division following their 9-1 victory over club mates NA Condors. Herbie Sage and Kevin Nicholls with maximums for the Buzzards. Torbay Academy 1 had another fine win as they saw off Halwell A 9-1. Toma Mitranescu and Patrik Cincala were unbeaten for the Academy, Halwell’s Mark Smith prevented the whitewash with an excellent win over Alessandro Mitranescu.

Unfortunately time constraints at Brixham spoilt an excellent match in the second division. Brixham Trawlers were 5-3 ahead of the division leaders, Torbay Academy 2, when time was called and the Trawlers had to concede the two sets that were in progress, the match finishing all square at 5-5. The Academy side still sit at the top of the table. A Paul Hine maximum was not enough to see the NA Raptors to victory over Torre Titans who shared the points 5-5. Dawlish Aces just edged past NA Owls 6-4 in another exciting close encounter. Brixham Gulls had a comfortable 9-1 victory over NA Falcons thanks to maximums from Ian Saxby and Holly Johns.

Early leaders of the third division, Torbay Academy 3, had a fine 8-2 win at Torre over the Vikings, Neville Cregan with a maximum for the Academy in his first match of the season. NA Harriers climbed up to second place with a comfortable 8-2 victory over Torre Tornadoes. Keith Haslam and Dale Fabian going well for the Harriers. The points were shared in the all Newton Abbot clash between the Kestrels and Hawks, David Doxsey with a maximum for the Hawks. A David Pearson maximum steered The Grove to a 6-4 victory over Torbay Academy 5.

NA Kites leapfrogged their opponents, Torbay Academy 7 to lead the fourth division following a hard fought 6-4 victory. Derek Stratton with his third maximum of the season seeing his side to victory. Dawlish Renegades with a man of the match performance from Prabhu Kashap saw off the challenge from NA Merlins 7-3. Dawlish Doubtfuls, all new to league table tennis, had another difficult week, firstly going down 10-0 to Torbay Academy 7 and the following night losing out 9-1 to NA Ospreys. It was Torbay Academy 7’s first win of the season, Maria Dillon, Damian Bednarkiewicz and Kai Fowler whitewashing the Dawlish outfit. Marc Grim of the Doubtfuls prevented a second whitewash on consecutive days, Rob Ferguson and Mark Dulling were unbeaten for the Ospreys.
