DAVE ALEXANDER

Sad news of  Dave Alexander ( Hasbeens) who died in Torbay Hospital on Wednesday 12th October. His family members arranged  a private funeral, but his friends, table tennis and bowls mates are invited to celebrate his life by attending a Memorial Celebration at 2pm on Thursday 24th November at The Redcliffe Hotel, Paignton.

If you will be attending please let his daughter Louise know in advance – email louisebeams@gmail.com or mobile 07979203005 so she can arrange buffet numbers.

Dave played table tennis all his life at different levels and in our league for many years, captaining his teams as well as being a league committee member. He always played with great sportsmanship, skill, good humour, enthusiasm and in his latter competitive years, as he put it, with “ more cunning and greater use of his experience”to challenge his better opponents.

He was very pleased that he was one of the league’s oldest players and always proudly boasted that his greatest achievement was when he once beat Dennis Gibbs!

He was a great credit to our game.
