At the Christmas break Torbay Academy teams lead the top three divisions and they will all be difficult to catch. Torbay Academy 1 stretched their lead at the top of the first division to 8 points with a whitewash victory over NA Eagles. The Academy side, Jakub & Kacper Piwowar with Toma Mitranescu, surely one of the best ever seen in our local league, totally dominated a good Eagles team dropping just three games in their 10-0 victory. A fine maximum by Herbie Sage helped his NA Buzzards side to a share of the points with NA Batmen in the battle for the runners up spot.

It’s a similar situation at the top of the second division where Torbay Academy 2 extended their lead at the top to a massive 14 points with an impressive 9-1 victory over NA Raptors. Nicholas Shipley and Ben Hoare were undefeated for the Academy. Another fine Rhys Lush maximum helped his Torre Titans side to a narrow 6-4 victory over NA Falcons. Brixham’s Joe Edwards picked up another maximum with a fine performance for the Gulls against the Raptors which helped the Gulls to a 6-4 win and make them the closest challengers to the leaders.

Ed Damanskas was man of the match for Torbay Academy 3 as they defeated NA Harriers 8-2 to remain at the top of the third division table. The Grove, in the runners up spot, were held to a 5-5 draw by Torbay Academy 4 despite another maximum from The Grove’s David Pearson. There was also stalemate at Newton Abbot where the Kestrels played out a 5-5 draw with Torbay Academy 5. A fine maximum for Bill Keywood was enough to help his Torre Tornadoes to a narrow 6-4 victory over NA Hawks.

NA Merlins head the fourth division table following a 9-1 victory over Torbay Academy 7. Jasem Abu Ali and Nick Kitchen again going well for the Merlins. Struggling Dawlish Doubtfuls, propping up the fourth division, suffered another whitewash at the hands of Torbay Academy 6, Jean Neafcy, Kai Fowler & Maria Dillon too strong for the Dawlish outfit.
