Upnor B have had a very good week as on Monday they booked their place in the Charles Stampe final and two days later they beat the Div One leaders, Sheerness East. This was only East's 2nd defeat of the season and came after 11 straight wins. The win was even more impressive as Upnor only played with 2 players as Captain Marylyn Dudgeon was unavailable so missed her first match of the season. Emmanuel Bayode once again showed his Premier class with another maximum but Dave Gracey was also in great form, only losing to Niyi Oyelade. He came back from 2 legs down to beat Keith Ludlam and also defeated Jason Adams over the distance. He then teamed up with Emmanuel to win the Doubles in the 5th to secure the 6-4 victory. This match completes Sheerness East's season as they have a bye next week, but the points gained in this match means they cant be caught so are Div One champions. They have led the way all season with a fantastic squad and we wish them well in the Premier next season.
