Match Report

Last year's Div 2 champions, Sheerness East, started with a win against Medway League newcomers Wyvern 1. Player of the Match was Mitesh Gurung who only dropped one leg on the way to his treble. Niyi Oyelade, who topped the Div 2 averages last season, also got off to a treble-winning start but was taken to a 5th leg by both Alistair James and Paul Wilson. The latter duo did both get wins against Jason Adams and with the Doubles also secured, escaped with 3 points plus the 3 bonus points introduced this season. Sheerness have a strong squad and look set for a good season; Wyvern are a bit of an unknown quantity at this stage.
