Match Report

Luton Invicta 2 completed a seasonal double over Boxley 1. Dave Hopkins led them to a 7-3 success with a treble and a 5th Player of the Match Award of the season. He was given most to think about by Lyndon Gurr who led 2-1 in legs before the Luton man unleashed some powerful and  spectacular flat hits to take legs 4 and 5. Ross Childs provided good support with 2 wins only losing out to Barry Roles over 4 very close legs. Steve Neilson, fresh from a hatrick earlier in the week for Boxley 2, was called up to fill the shoes of an absent Gary Hentschel. He took the first leg off Tony Boarer before Tony responded by taking the next 3 and then found Hopkins and Childs a bit too hot to handle on the night. Gurr and Roles added wins against Tony.Boxley have a poor Doubles record but had their chances before the Hopkins/Childs partnership prevailed in 4 legs.
