Some close games at Newington Village Hall but ultimately, visitor's Cliffe Woods 2, recorded their 4th straight win. Peter Mortley has started the season well and hung on to his unbeaten start but was taken to a 5th leg by both Mehdi Golchehreh and Andy Marchant including saving a match point against Andy. Alan Bridle was similarly able to beat the Sturdee pair but came unstuck against Dave Bonner in the decider. Dave also beat his namesake (Dave Lewis) for a well earned brace. The Cliffe Dave outlasted Mehdi for his single but lost to Andy in four legs, three of which went to deuce(all in Andy's favour).
