Rainham 1 began life in Div 1 following relegation last season, with a hard fought victory over visitor's Sturdee 2. Rikki Clarke recorded a fairly comfortable treble and was well supported by teammates Dave Barr and Vinnie MacAneney. Dave also went unbeaten but needed a 5th leg to get past both Dan Stokes and Dave Bonner. Vinnie just got the better of Jaspal Plaha and Dan but lost out to Bonner who then teamed up with Jaspal to win the Doubles for the away sides' 2nd point. Rainham look more than capable of bouncing straight back up.
