A hard fought win from Cliff Woods who were indebted to Matt Emery, who showed all his class to pick up another maximum. His closest match was against Moruf, who managed to pick up one leg before  Matt came through. Dave McAulay was five points down first leg against  Cumberland captain Segun Ake and  had the audacity to win the next eleven!, the latter couldn't get going after that, losing three straight. Segun though is a true battler and was responsible for the match of the night against Alan Longhurst, The Cliff player stormed to a two leg lead before being pegged back with some brilliant retrieving and counter attacking but the Cliff player wouldn't be denied, winning 11,3 in the decider. Moruf posted a brace, as did Alan, with Shev only finding form against Dave, winning in five
