Wayne Youngs was the star player on the night, posting a terrific maximum, although he was made to fight hard by Rikki Clarke, coming back from the brink, two legs down, to win 11,9 in the decider. Tim Vaughan and Dave Bonner registered two victories with the latter defeating Dave Barr 11,6 at the death. Dave Barr can count himself unlucky with two fifth leg defeats, doing well to take Wayne to five, but falling short. Dave Bonner was halted from his maximum by Rikki, who came through in five.  A  good contest on .the night, arguably closer than the scoreline suggests
