Ark Royal posted another good win against a spirited Sturdee 1. Mark Buckley was back to his belligerent best, picking up another good treble and was helped by Martin Birley, who also went undefeated. Martin's maximum was more hard fought, with two fifth leg victories, Tim Vaughan just feeling short, 11,9 at the death, and Wayne Youngs, 11,3, also in the decider. Wayne did have the consolation of picking up Sturdee's only singles point, finally overcoming his  bogey player, Stuart Fritter, in the fourth. Dave Bonner did have some close legs, but unfortunately left empty handed. Sturdee really hit their stride in the doubles, though, with Tim Vaughan and Wayne Youngs teaming up and powering past Mark Buckley and Martin Birley for a brilliant three leg victory, 8,2 the final scoreline
