Upnor were all in terrific form, whitewashing strugglers Sturdee 2. Shane Jarrett, Nick Boden and Peter Worthington all going unbeaten. It could have been different with Nicky Stokes and Shane Jarrett playing the first match and going right to the wire, before the latter ran out 11,4 in the decider. Nick Boden went two legs to one down to Danny Stokes, losing one leg 11,1!, but he wasn't to be denied, winning 11,6 in the fifth. Special mention must go to Upnor's captain Peter Worthington, who was man of the match, not dropping a leg along the way.
