Chatham Cumberland were unlucky to find themselves 7-0 down when Moruf Oladimedi beat Trevor Towers 11-7, 11-7, 11-7 to gain the first point of the evening for Cumberland. Prior to his win, Moruf had taken both Stuart Fritter and Martin Burley to 5 legs.

The scoreline was harsh on Cumberland as Ark Royal also won the doubles in five ending the matching 9-1 winners.
