This match was full of surprises.  Number one was that Kathy Hall of Upnor went without a win and the second one was that after a very close first game in which John Clark outlasted Colin Hutchins 10-12,11-5,14-16,11-8,12-10 Upnor only managed one win in the entire evening.  It was left to Colin to get Upnor's sole point when he beat Liu Yun Guo in the eighth game.  As previously mentioned Kathy went winless for Upnor as did Brenda Aherne.   The player of the night was Zhong Jiao Tan who didn't drop a set all night including the doubles when she partnered John to an emphatic doubles victory.
