This match was remarkable for one thing.  Sean Durkin of Gannet who hadn't played since October due to an illness returned as if nothing had happened to record a very impressive treble in wins over Spencer Webb, Kathy Hall and especially a straight sets victory over Tony Jarrett.  He was backed up by Steve Collins who only lost to Tony and Roger Chipperfield who beat Spencer to inflict a bad night on the Upnor player.  Kathy beat Roger but he had the last word by partnering Sean to a four set doubles win.
