Match Report

These two sides braved the wet and cold conditions both inside and out (the hut has a small roof leak) to play a friendly but competitive match. In the first encounter earlier in the season, Boxley won 8-2 but Rainham edged this one 6-4. The visitors led 4-3 when Gary Hentschel beat Mick Hambelton and John Coleman and Barry Roles got the better of Coleman and Tim Davie.  Mick and Tim beat Roles and Hentschel respectively as well as Lyndon Gurr and with Coleman also just beating Gurr in a 5-legger it was all down to the Doubles. This proved to be a comfortable ride for the hosts to secure their 5th win of the season. Tim just did enough to take the Player of the Match Award cheered on by Dad Jim who was frozen to the spot watching in the near arctic conditions !
