Match Report

Boxley 1 made the trip to Frog Island to play Upnor B on a wet windy Wednesday and came away with a share of the points after trailing 5-2. Upnor's lead was built by a fine treble from Steve McNally who played with good control and skill and two wins for Marylyn Dudgeon over Lyndon Gurr(in 4 legs) and Barry Roles(in 5 legs). Marylyn looked on course for a treble as she took a 2-1 leg lead over Gary Hentschel but the Boxley man held his nerve to take the sea-sawing final leg 11-9. That made the score 5-3 and when Gurr beat Dave Gracey (to condemn Dave to a winless evening) in the last singles,it was all on the Doubles which Gurr/Roles took to secure the draw. This deprived Upnor of its first win of the season and they remain 2nd bottom but have a game in hand
