Sheerness East made their Medway League debut and held hosts Upnor B to a draw at Frog Island. Upnor's line-up will look slightly different this season following promotion, but stalwart Dave Gracey remains and started the season in fine style going unbeaten in singles and Doubles (which was needed to secure the draw). Former Anchorians players Aubrey Maryott and Garry Kimber, both beat Shahab Razza and Spencer Webb and the away side's 5th point was gained by Simon Hatt who also beat Spencer. Shahab contributed 2 points having beat Simon and teaming up with Gracey in the all important Doubles.
