Although the league leaders managed an 8,2 victory, Sturdee gave a good account of themselves with six legs going into the fourth and two into the fifth.  Tim Vaughan and Graham French went to the wire, with the former racing into a two leg lead, before the Howard player fought back to win the third and fourth legs 11,9, but the fightback didn't deter Tim, as he managed to scramble home 11,8 in the fifth.  Captain Neil Lemillere was back and did well to take Alan Watson and Graham French to four but couldn't quite get over the line. Dave Bonner, fresh from his maximum the previous week looked like a might cause an upset against Simon Forest, going two legs to one up, before the Howard player showed his class to win 11,2 in the fifth. There was some consolation in the doubles for Sturdee as Dave Bonner and Tim Vaughan outfought Alan Watson and Simon Forest to win in four, 8,2 the final result
