Cumberland's bright start to the season continued with a narrow 6,4 win over Rainham. Jamie Someset was the hero for Cumberland, picking up a fine maximum. He was supported by Harry Jones, who registered a brace. Steve Carter overcame a luckless Gary Clarke, but only just 11,5 in the fifth. Rikki Clarke posted a double and was on his way to a treble, until Jamie Somerset pipped him at the post, 11,8 in the decider.
The Clarke's are a great doubles pair, and so it proved again, winning 11,8 in the fifth to narrow the loss
