Match Report

This match will go down in history as a classic. Alan Longhurst  was the star of the show, picking up a comfortable treble, not losing a leg in the process. The win of the night though, has to be by Tim Vaughan. After edging out a lack lustre Alan Bridle 13,11 in the decider, he moved up a gear to beat former medway champion and new Cliff Woods recruit Paul Cronin, 11,9 in the fifth, this was despite losing the fourth 11,3, an outstanding performance from the Sturdee player. Neil Lemillere also had a close encounter with Cronin, winning the first 12,10 but just falling short in the following legs to lose in four.  Alan Bridle played well in patches but ran out of steam and went away empty handed. The doubles was won in three by Cliff to give them a narrow victory.
