Boxley showed very little of the Christmas spirit in beating lowly Rainham 6 9-1.  Only Vic Hope could get on the scorecard for Rainham with a victory over Derek Myers.  Bob Ellis and Paul Paulding both got trebles for Boxley but Eddie Stevens and Tony Parry, although showing plenty of fight were unable to get close to the Boxley trio who won the doubles to complete the victory and overtake Hector and go third, indeed with the game in hand against Upnor Boxley could yet go second.
