Match Report

With this fixture falling on Valentines Day some creative adjustments were made to get the match played. The venue was moved to BlueBell Hill Village Hall which enabled both Peter Stokes and Paul Snaith to play in this match and a Maidstone game on an adjoining table. Some flexibility in the order of play was required to accommodate the table-hopping duo but this didnt prevent Paul Willis smashing his way to a treble, only dropping a leg to Gary Hentschel. Gary was once again Boxley's best player with victories over both the aforementioned doubly-engaged pair. Stokes did have some reward for his two-table efforts beating both Lyndon Gurr and Barry Roles and teaming up with Willis to triumph over Gurr/Hentshel in the tightest of Doubles to secure the 6-4 victory for the "home" side. Snaith didnt fair so well, competing manfully, but ultimately losing all his games coming closest against Gurr in his final action of a tiring evening for the Sturdee/Hillreed man.
