Boxley 1 faced a very strong Sturdee 2 line-up comprising Dan and Nick Stokes and Paul Willis this week at Blue Bell Village Hall and fell to a heavy defeat. The only shining light for the home side was a good win by Lyndon Gurr over Dan followed by a straight legs Doubles success for Gurr and Gary Hentschel at the end of the evening. Gurr did nearly add another Stokes' scalp, just falling 10-12 in the 5th to Nick, after holding a 2-1 leg lead. The away side collected the other 8 points despite the best efforts of Hentschel and Boxley stalwart, Mick Sheppard, who was playing up from the 2nd team.
