KENT LEAGUE RELAUNCH – 2023-24

Due to popular demand from a number of Leagues and Players, myself and Wayne Matthews are looking to relaunch the Kent League.

Open to all Kent Leagues and Players registered to those leagues We are planning on adopting the same, or very similar, rules as were in place the last time this competition was run. This will be circulated in due course.

Divisions of six, seven, or eight teams, depending on numbers. Three a side, all play all with a doubles – two a side was discussed but it was felt that with the likely distances being travelled that was too few games. Players in a team squad can be any mix of Junior, Senior or Veteran. It is hoped that there will be divisions for all standards.

We are looking to start this league from October 2023 and where possible schedule one match in every month on Sunday afternoons, alternating home and away, with the last round played in April 2024 dependant on entries. As previously, and if we are successful, then going forward teams at home one season and playing the same team the following season will play away and vice versa.

Then can Leagues confirm if they will be entering a team or teams including player names and league division playing in so that divisions can be set up ensuring, where possible, similar standard teams play each other.

Also please confirm which venue or venues will be used for home matches and, if possible, .team captain details.

We are setting a deadline of 30th September for leagues to get this information back to the us so that the next phases of the plan can be carried out, notionally these are:

Division or divisional allocations by first week in October.

Fixtures scheduled by second week in October.

1st round of matches sometime late October
