A TABLE TENNIS FIRST
For the first time ever followers of the Senior Schools’ Invitation International Table Tennis Championship will, from Friday, be able to watch the tournament, televised live, throughout the three days from the National Sports Centre in the Isle of Man.
Stream feeding will be provided by local company, Eye-Spy Security, in co-operation with Manx Telecom. Four cameras will be utilised giving a choice of four different matches simultaneously.
The event can be watched online by visiting www.eyespywebcams.com commencing at 4pm on Friday 28th June and continuing until the tournament finishes in the afternoon of Sunday 30th. Results will be posted daily on the IOMTTA website www.tabletennis365.com/iom and there will also be a link to the web cams. Supporters are encouraged to come along and watch the matches which will take place in the main hall at the NSC.
Our team will be joined by squads from England, Guernsey, Ireland, Jersey, Scotland and Wales. There are team and individual events at under 14/16/18 level for both boys and girls. This is an annual tournament hosted by each country on a rotational basis.
The Isle of Man squad comprises:
Under 16A The Island Champion, Ronan McDonnell and the Junior Top 12 title holder Hadyn McLarney.
Under16B Danny Hamill and the U’16 Island Champion Sean Drewry
Under 14A Ben Christian and Aaron Faragher
Under14B Ashley Reid and the U’14 Island Champion Wael Kassim
In addition to the above, on Sunday, Carl Blatcher & Pedro Cardoso will also be playing in the singles competition in the under 14 age group.
The IOMTTA Chairman, Maggie Mulhern, is the Tournament Referee and the non playing team captains are Malc Lewis, Ewan Watterson, Paul Corran and Chris Kewley.
