Match Report - Week 18 - March 2nd 2022

Season 2021/22 Week 18

 

Premier Division

Even without their number one Rory Scott Horsham Spinners still managed to defeat Ping Panthers 9-0.

For Spinners it was three all-round for Freddy Goodall, Graham Beaney and Erik Van Mol although Panthers made them work for the win with games going to four and five sets.

Panthers team consisting of Sasha O’Halloran, Steven Ive and Jeff Triggs all made a good showing against the leading premier team with Jeff Triggs just losing to Erik Van Mol in the fifth.

 

Divergents are proving hard to beat. This week they had a 8-1 win against All-stars with three for player in form Daniel Pound, three for Minesh Agnihotri and two for Jim Skinner their Veteran player.

All-stars Bron Budka was the only winner for them.

 

Hang Em High surprisingly went down 3-6 to Crawley Knights as Fawzi Yousif continued with a winning streak getting three wins, Josef Krakovsky with two followed by Mina Matta with one.

For Hang Em High Graham Carter did well for two wins and Tony Rowell with one win. High in the averages third player Andrew Sharland had a disastrous evening losing all three games.

 

Dynamos defeated Crawley Community 8-1 with Crawley being a player short. Matthew and Richard Caddy with two wins over Brett Holt and Peter Cracknell. Peter was the lone winner for Crawley Community with a closely fought win over Richard Cosens in 5. 

 

 

Conference Division One

 

A shock for division one leaders Ping Pongs this week as they went down 4-5 to Spinderella’s. It was a very exiting match that could have gone either way. Two wins for John Bridger, two wins for Viv Cole plus the important one for Kate Bridger.

Ping Pongs saw Darius Mayhew winning two, also Nikita Kalyazin with two. Third player Holly Cole played well taking Kate Bridger to four sets.

 

X Men worked hard to close the gap with second placed Pingwins winning six games to three. Robert Hoare winning three, Tom Christopherson bagged two while Colin Cooper got one.

 Pingwins Dan Polhill won two with Rupert Browning winning one.

 

Another 6-3 result saw Thunderbolts defeating Magiks. Star for Thunderbolts was Andy Steel with three wins, Samantha Stoner with two wins plus one for David Metcalfe. Magiks Mel Sims won two with Phil Harvey coming home with one.  

 

The close result with New Avengers and Blade Runners saw Avengers coming out on top five games to four. It was two each for Robert and Luke Goff plus an important one for Prevesh Ramnath. 

For Blade Runners Oscar Wiseman despite winning three he was still on the losing team with third player Jenifer Watkins winning one and losing one in the fifth set.
