Match Report - Week 10 - December 15th 2021

Week Ten

Premier Division

With another treble for Spinner’s captain Rory Scott plus two each for Gary Wilson and Graham Beaney, the 7-2-win over Crawley Knights was well deserved. For Crawley Knights Fawzi Yousif defeated Gary Wilson in four sets and Mina Matta defeated Graham Beaney also four sets.

As with most sports the virous is causing havoc with fixtures with some having to postpone the odd match until later. Hang Em High with Ben Worley, Christian Vincent and Graham Carter completed their fixture against Divergents winning 6-3. It was two apiece for Hang Em High's Ben Worley, Graham Carter and Christian Vincent. Sally Hughes was in great form for Divergents and deserved to be named player of the match as the only player to win her three singles.

Players leading the averages so far are Rory Scott, Graham Beaney, Andrew Sharland and Michael Bridger. 

 

Conference Division One

Pingwins lead this division after defeating Blade Runners 7-2. With only four points between the top four teams, it should lead to an exciting finishing of the second half of the season for all of these teams. For Pingwins it was two wins apiece for David and Dan Polhill plus a walkover and a walkover for Rupert Browning. For Blade Runners who were short of a player, it was one win for both Jennifer Watkins and Keith Johnson.

Spinderella’s jump up to second place with a good 7-2 win against Magiks. Spinderella’s John Bridger with three wins was named Player of the match, Kate Bridger (Daughter) is having a good season winning two and only losing to Mel Sims 9-11 in the fifth. Third Player Darius Mayhew stepping up from Ping Pongs also won two games. For Magiks it was one each for Phil Harvey and Mel Sims.

X Men despite being a player short defeated Thunderbolts 5-4 with Angus Ogg winning three and Tom Christophersen winning two. Thunderbolts Andy Steel was the winner of one game and Samantha Stoner.  Andy Steel and Matthew Power had a walkover apiece.

The top four players in this division are. Paul Brinkhurst, Jacob Allonby, Dan Polhill and John Bridger.
